In Who Let the Gods Out?, by Maz Evans, Elliot’s life is turned upside down when an immortal crashes out of the sky. They go on adventures together but accidentally release a daemon. With help from the gods, they begin a quest to save the world that takes them to incredible places on Earth and beyond.
Through this text, we will write Greek myths, balanced arguments & playscripts.

Maths

We will begin by comparing and rounding numbers and their place value including powers of ten; multi-step addition and subtraction problems; prime, square and cube numbers in multiplication and division and fractions.

Science

Our Place in Space teaches us the names of the planets, models their orbits, and investigates Earth and the Moon. In our Forces in Motion project, we will discuss the two types: contact and non-contact forces; as well as gravity; friction, resistance and mechanisms.

Computing

Quizzing, databases, games

Our quizzing unit introduces the process of designing and creating interactive quizzes. We will learn about databases beyond branching databases. As game creators we will design and make our own 3D maze adventure game.

DT

Powering Movement

We will learn how pneumatic systems work; how they can be used to create movement, lift loads and solve problems.

Project - History / Geography

The Greeks: a lasting legacy teaches children about developments and changes over periods of ancient Greek history, and exploring the lasting legacy of ancient Greece. During our Tale of Two Settlements project, we will use maps, data and geographical skills to locate Barcelona and explore its climate, time zone, transport, services, culture and key human and physical features. We will compare it with Alquézar and investigate another world settlement.

RE

Why do some people believe God exists? What could Jesus do? Can we live by the values of Jesus in the 21st Century?

Art

The Art of Light and Line

We will learn how artists use line, light and shadow to create form, mood and dramatic effect. We will explore continuous line drawing, shading techniques and the use of black and white in drawing, photography and digital media.

PSHE

We will cover units including Being Me in My World and Celebrating Difference.

Music

In nature, 3-chord pop

We will draw inspiration from the power of nature to compose short melodies to reflect different moods of the sky. After which, we will discover 3-chord pop by learning the bass line, chords and melody.

PE

Football, basketball, fitness, dance

Our PE days will be Wednesday and Friday. Please ensure your child wears their PE kit to school on these days.
