English:

Narratives, Instructions, Cinquains, Chronological Reports

We will be exploring, then writing our own, of each text type. We will also be reading Stig of the Dump by Clive King.

Maths:

Place Value, Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division

We will develop our understanding of place value, addition and subtraction, and multiplication and division. This includes representing numbers to 100, adding and subtracting 2- and 3-digit numbers, solving money problems, and using times table knowledge to divide.

Science:

Sunlight and Shadows

We will investigate light sources, shadows and UV safety, using observations and fair tests to explore how light behaves.

Eat well, Move well

We will also learn how we stay healthy by exploring diets, skeletons and muscles, and comparing different types of skeletons.

DT:

The Healthy Kitchen

We will learn about healthy eating, balanced diets and food preparation. We will use these skills to design, make and evaluate a healthy taco using nutritious ingredients.

We will learn how to use email safely and responsibly to communicate and share information online.

We will learn how branching databases help to sort, classify and identify information using simple questions.

RE:

Beliefs about God and the Bible

We will explore what different people believe about God and why the Bible is important for Christians today.

Project:

History - Through the Ages

This project teaches children about British prehistory from the Stone Age to the Iron Age, including changes to people and lifestyle caused by ingenuity, invention and technological advancement.

Geography – Land Use Detectives

We will explore the UK's countries, counties and cities, investigate human and physical features, and study land use through map work and local fieldwork.

Art & Design:

Colour Masters

We will explore colour theory and contrasting colours, learning how artists use colour to create mood and meaning. We will apply these skills to create and evaluate our own textile artwork.

PSHE:

Being me in my world, Celebrating difference

This will include developing empathy for others and understanding that every family is different.

Music:

Mountain melodies: Steps and Leaps

We will explore pitch through steps and leaps in melodies, developing our singing, listening and performance skills while learning how music can be structured and created.

PE:

Football, Ball Skills, Netball and Dance

We will develop our skills, improving coordination, control, teamwork and confidence through a range of physical activities.
